Buzzy parked in the ridge workshed.

This is Buzzy, a Savage ‘Tasman’ 1/2 cabin fibreglass runabout. Purchased by Matty and Chris January 2017. This is the ongoing story of our loving restoration of the mighty Buzzy.

We have figured out that the boat was made sometime around 1980 and the Mercury 60HP outboard was fitted around 1997, replacing whatever was the original. It was registered to a Queensland owner up to 2014, then sold to the guy from Evans Head who sold it to us.

The latest – 8th July 2019:

Buzzy is fully operational and registered. The trailer has been completely renovated, all the hardware tidied up, fully equipped with safety gear, new batteries and a major motor and steering service – plus a lovely new blue bimini. She has already been out on the water, trips up the Richmond River and a great first outing to the mighty Clarence, where we motored up to the new Pacific Highway bridge. Also there was a memorable ocean tip out to Chaos reef with Chris, Matty and Alex. We caught both fish and a bit of seasickness from the swell.
